And then, on the last night,
before we came to the end of fire and ice,

as if we had to wait 
for the earth’s tilt,

it began.

Green across the sky,
oxygen and solar winds melding

into a unicorn, a narwhal,
a Norse comb,

a harp played by passing satellites.

Fluorescence rising 
like breath from spent volcanoes.
